Having designed learning places ranging from nurseries to graduate schools, we know that a multitude of considerations must precede the opening of a new educational institution. Through academic specifications, our clients describe their basic needs: our job is to create spaces that further enhance the learning experience. Because humans often learn best by hands-on experimentation, we seek to make sensitive and creative environments that stimulate all of the senses. By the same token, we must also be sure that our designs are flexible enough to accomodate changes in curriculum and different teaching styles. Other considerations include the selection of safe and environmentally sound materials that require minimum maintenance and maximum durability. Each new project brings challenges to keep the architect learning as well.
